@Zennagain birthday candles used to have bases to them, you bought them separately and I can't remember if they were edible candy or not but they were like a little rosette that held the candle up vertically. It fits the period of the artwork, by the 1970s people just stuck the candle right into the frosting. But if you ask your grandma she might have a box of these in a drawer somewhere.
@klaatu
I'm too old to have any grandmas! My brother is a plumber. I will try to find some for his upcoming birthday cake!
@Zennagain they're birthday candle holders at the end of the candles. Don't really use them anymore, but you can still find them.
@primanox
Tiny plungers for my brother the plumber's birthday cake! I must find them!
@Zennagain @primanox It's called a theme, Janet!
@thatguyoverthere @primanox
I'm smol not microscopic.
@Zennagain @thatguyoverthere what you COULD do, is get some red (i.e. cherry) Airheads, Laffy Taffy, fruit Tootsie Rolls, or maybe even Starburst, knead them with your fingers and shape them into the red rubber plunger bits and use birthday candles as the handles. Or (even easier), pipe some smol round dollops of red frosting and put the candles in them, again, like handles.
@primanox @thatguyoverthere
Too much work for me. I might not even get him anything now!
