I'm so old, I remember when leftists were concerned about food, food additives, and food safety.

Now the left opposes one of their own - RFK Jr. being put in charge of the FDA. Simply because he is being appointed by President Trump. They support "lab grown" meat, "3d-printed" foods, and even eating bugs. Do these people actually have any principles? Or are all issues merely seen as a path to power?

@sensei

Stealing this because it's perfect too.

@sensei

I'm old enough to remember when *I* made fun of hippie Earth Mothers and all their natural foods and home cooking and such...

... and now I have totally embraced the concept.

@GluedToTheScreen Compare the quality and taste of food from a farmers market (or Amish market) with overly processed stuff from a supermarket.

@sensei and it really isn't that long ago. 15-20 years.

@sensei

They have no principles I've seen. What we saw earlier (pre 2016) was all a ruse to get into power. They're all narcissists.

Won't admit to mistakes, won't apologize when they're wrong, always want to be right, have their way, will force people to believe in their ideology (and use force if necessary).

These people have... mental issues.

@breaker @sensei Is this limited to Dems or is it simply being starkly exposed now? Can we say the same about most other political groups?

Further, is this statement expandable to 90%+ of all people who's identity is closely tied to a group - especially one that's stated mission is to "make the world better"?

@relo

The left is the left, no matter where in the world they are. If you don't understand or know this by now, you haven't been paying attention, lefty.

@sensei

@breaker @sensei Fiesty. Simmer down hot sauce.

My point was is this strictly limited to the left? Or is it a majority of humanity that qualifies for this disdain?

@relo

Or you're a leftist, as I've implied. Most Of the people on the right have noticed over the last 8+ years. I'm not on the right, and I noticed.

Behavior will always = ideology.

@sensei

@breaker @sensei Well, I'm in California and considered far right locally so I guess I am a lefty

RFK jr was never fully "one of their own", he was always fringe. He was also probably always compromised - the israel support and blackmail incidents go back a long time. Compromising him is useful for TPTB because it serves to discredit whatever actually good ideas he may have had - to stain them by association. Makes it much harder for someone else who isn't compromised to advance those ideas.

@sensei Their sole interest is in controlling others. Everything they claim they believe in, they will abandon it all, even turn 180°, in order to adopt whatever new window dressing serves that single end.

@sensei

I grew up in an all Dem family.

The first time my dad broke ranks was with Reagan. But depression era babies should be forgiven. They grew up during FDR socialism that they were told saved and protected them.

But i don't recognize them anymore. They make even less sense than Bill Clinton when he was faking centrism and relying on Perot to get him in office by splitting Bush Sr's GOP voters.

Dems are now the lunatic left. Who like vampires cannot see their own images in mirrors.
