Whilst, Savage Garden wasn't necessarily a "gay band" per se, but the duo's lead singer, Darren Hayes, did come out as gay after the group disbanded in 2001. He was married to a woman during the Savage Garden years, but he's since become a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and same-sex marriage. So while the band itself wasn't explicitly identified as gay, one of its members was, and his coming out has certainly added a new layer of meaning to some of their songs.
