I don't dislike the furries as a group (there are lots of decent swaths and a few golden ones--I especially like the cartoony funny-animal stuff especially) but.. then there's these morons that make the whole group skeevy and gross. Dude. Come on.

"A stable furry population is crucial to a healthy internet ecosystem" 😂😂

@Dan_Ramos wouldn't 0 furries technically be a stable furry ecosystem?
@Dan_Ramos furry is overwhelmingly becoming a degenerate sex thing. I know furries that are not but it's getting taken over by these loud weirdos
>becoming
It has been for decades.
@Alex @Dan_Ramos I was trying to be understated but yes
@Alex @Dan_Ramos @sun

I always thought that was the whole point. 🤷‍♂️
@toiletpaper @Alex @Dan_Ramos they can do whatever they want just pls don't act like it's some kind of wholesome thing you can get kids into or make it out like it's some kind of critical social construct to society, or that you're a persecuted group
@sun @Alex @Dan_Ramos

> pls don't act like it's some kind of wholesome thing you can get kids into or make it out like it's some kind of critical social construct to society, or that you're a persecuted group

I think that ship has sailed...

@sun@shitposter.world @toiletpaper@shitposter.world @Alex@boymilk.cafe @Dan_Ramos@noauthority.social I look at it as having two sides to it. There's the general side that's just about being a fan anthropomorphic animals in media. The other side is the fetishy side. The best thing I can compare it to is anime and hentai. A big problem in the fandom is the people that there are absolutely degenerate with it in public and try to act like it's acceptable. These kind of people like to do the "Furry as a lifestyle" thing. They tend be extremely loud subsection in the fandom. At this point they maybe a majority, but I haven't really interacted with the fandom in a long time with the exception of a few other sane people. To many fucked up people have pretty much ruined it for me.

@shadowferret @Dan_Ramos @Alex @sun @toiletpaper the problem as well IMO is that the fandom really kinda sucks at making SFW media in general and the mainstream pop culture has been lacking with it too.

Literally only the biggest boomer/religious parent is going to think Final Fantasy is the same as a H-Game, the same cannot be said about the furry scene.

@PurpCat@clubcyberia.co @Dan_Ramos@noauthority.social @Alex@boymilk.cafe @sun@shitposter.world @toiletpaper@shitposter.world that's fair. There is some good sfw media, but not nearly enough to offset the amount of nsfw content that comes out.

@shadowferret @Dan_Ramos @Alex @sun @toiletpaper in all honestly do you notice how the OP screenshot talks nothing about talking animals? It's not about them anymore, it's about being "queer" and "weird" as the fandom ends up declining.
The sfw side of furries tend to be 100% about talking about politics, but with a furry avatar. The nsfw side is the side that actually makes art about talking animals.
You know that one "Steven. He/Him. Actually writes code." meme about programmers? I feel like it'd be easy to do an edit of that about furries.
@sun @Dan_Ramos the lifestyle and the fandom went to war sometime around 1997 and the result was casual fans being booted out in favor of a culture dominated by seething proto-incels being groomed by faggot drug users and pederasts.

@Dan_Ramos
a "healthy" furry population makes the internet spaces degenerate and corrupted. There is a reason why 'Yiffy in hell' is as related today as it was decades ago.

@Dan_Ramos furries are the 1st step towards bestiality, fuck those mentally ill animal fuckers

@Dan_Ramos Bluesky is like a social experiment at this point. The petri dish of stupidity
