Steve Gibson developed Spinrite back in the 80's and today it doesn't appear to have competition.

It is the only drive recovery tool that I know of that works at the block and sector level.

How could there be no competition?

@DavidB Yeah, I've needed the EUFI support for 5 years now because Razer support for BIOS boot started failing back then. I like SQRL and all, but if nobody can even implement passkeys correctly, I doubt SQRL will ever get a full implementation.

@DavidB I think it's his unique take on data recovery. What I find the crazy part to be is that its techniques worked so well for SSDs also!

@DavidB Marketing, 1 guy with 1 tool versus a bunch of guys working in a bigger company where an equivalent tool gets it's functionality rolled into a more general software package. There are other recovery tools out there but they're like one tree hidden in the forest.

@klaatu if you see one let me know. I've looked and everyone starts talking about files it supports. File level not bit level.
