Anyone have experience with building container homes in rural areas… Or just in general?

@FranciscoScaramanga
Are you going to be converting the containers yourself?
You might be better off with prefabricated (modular, preengineered, etc.) homes. Pretty much just trailer homes, but a little nicer.

@SirLuke No plan for a container home... Just curious. I've seen a lot of cool looking conversions... Just wondering what it's like to live in one of those and how cost effective it is. Seems like prefab would be a better choice or A-frame cabin as a second home in nature.

Check out compressed earth blocks. Goes together like Lego, you can build yourself, and is made out of clay/sand/8% concrete.

If you buy the manual press, you will get totally ripped while creating the blocks: dwellearth.com/auram-3000-bloc

Game plan:
- find land
- buy large premade shed to live in
- buy shipping container to store equipment
- make compressed earth blocks
- make a castle that is fireproof and EMF proof
- finish out interior minimally
- enjoy
