How would you describe a few?
Please boost for a larger sample
@MummaBear
a few = 3, after that it's multiple
@MummaBear 3 to 5 is a few
@RonV42 5 is a handful?
@MummaBear handful is actaully based on what fits in the palm of the hand. Peanuts a handful is about 12 to 17. M & M's handful is about 9 to 14.
@EvolLove @MummaBear it entirely depends on the context. It a person is 200 years old, 20 is a few years. If a person is 20 3 or 4 years is a few. 200 people in an arena of 35000 is a few people. In a room of 50, 7 would be a few.
@EvolLove 5 is a handful?
@MummaBear a few is 3 or more.
@MummaBear A "few" is 3 or 4. After that, it's a "handful."
@MummaBear less than three is either a 2 "a couple" or 1.
"A few" is 3 or 4 to me.
@MummaBear less than a half dozen.
Bunch is more than a half dozen but less than a dozen.
After a dozen use exact numbers unless multiples of 12. (ie: 4 dozen)
@ReadyKilowatt what about bakers dozen
@rredball thanks for the extra knowledge,
@MummaBear, TFW I think 3 is few:
@MummaBear now do SOME, A COUPLE OF, and SEVERAL
@rredball interesting .
Couple it's two.
Several is seven.
Some..... Any amount between 3 and 9!
