@ZeroSum06 Too bad nobody listens to the radio anymore. What a psychotic waste of money.

@Meachamus_Prime except the reach and listenership exceeds 9 figures in the US, Soros is also now the new boss over Hannity, Beck & Levin

@ZeroSum06

How do they measure reach and listenership?

They measure the range of the antennae based on power level and calculate the population in that area.

How do they measure listenership?

They send out little booklets to people who listen to the radio and ask them to write in the times they listen and pay them a dollar for their trouble. They then extrapolate, based on the nearby population, based on that self-selecting, filtered sampling.

If nobody listens, reach is irrelevant.

@ZeroSum06 This is not to say they don't listen over the internet. Just that Soros is more likely to sell the spectrum off for internet access.

@Meachamus_Prime He's done it abroad- buy & control RW outlets. As boss over guys like Beck/Hannity he can bend the message to whatever his agenda is. This was big enough for the FCC to bypass the usual 6-12 mo process & ignore both monopoly laws & foreign interest in controlling domestic media let alone zero hearings were recommended or held over the transaction. Whether we like him or not is irrelevant- he has amassed his fortune, power & influence in his 93 years for reasons & gets his way.

@ZeroSum06

I agree he is corrupt and the way he obtained the stations is corrupt.

I'm just saying it has gained him little influence beyond radio bandwidth. It is a dwindling populace that actually listens to the stations he now controls, and the former radio hosts (now podcast hosts) know that, so he has gained little influence over them from the purchase.

@Meachamus_Prime Several radio publications, Google AI, Pew Research, Nielsen have radio listeners be it weekly or monthly in 9 figures. That's not just a guy tuning in in his car. It's in offices, at the dr/dentist, in the park, in Ubers, at the mall, wherever. It's impossible to think he didn't do his DD. Since conservatives are perceived to be the rEsiSTaNce it makes sense to now control guys like Hannity/Beck who have listeners who vote and have money.

@Meachamus_Prime But what are his motivations? An interest in the advertisers? Election interference and influence? Infiltrate the right? Sow further discord by further disrupting and dividing the populace as he has done here before? His original surname is Schwartz btw so he is a chosennite. We all toot and re-toot the same dopey memes about other dopes like Gates, Musk, Trump, Vance, Harris, Walz, Biden, etc... but no one's memeing Soros, I'm sure just the way he likes it. Off the radar.

@ZeroSum06

Don't get me wrong. He's an evil man based on past performance. Honestly I doubt his sanity at his age, too, but that's beside the point.

The point is radio has little direct influence over conservative news anymore. Even TV and cable have little influence. I would be more afraid if he had purchased Daily Wire or Rumble or The Blaze or X. As it stands, the only thing his estate purchased was an old resource few want anymore.

@Meachamus_Prime I would even pause on calling Rumble a beacon of free speech. At best they're controlled opposition. Allow a little more than YouTube but still acceptable to the powers that be. Funding came from Peter Thiel (Palantir) of which JD Vance is a lapdog for (in addition to Bilderberg). Controlled opposition. This paves the way to get the right on-board with the security state even further, in addition to the abundance of data harvested from WEF statist authoritarian puppet Elmo on X.

@Meachamus_Prime Elmo who is part of the PayPal mafia alongside Thiel. Again, it's cute to think radio is dying, and it slowly is, but now with Sorors gaining access to 9 figures in the population, oligarchs with similar interests have a treasure trove of data and reach to basically round-up the segment of the population who perceive themselves as the rEsiStAnCe to get them to basically willingly casually walk to the slaughter.

@ZeroSum06

I'm middle aged and it's been over a decade since I listened to the radio, but I've been listening to long form talk audio for longer than that.

And there was a big buy right before COVID too, IIRC, so I expect more than half of them are now under the influence. But the programming can't slowly move left because the stations don't control it anymore. It would have to be a hard flip now. And a hard flip will get noticed.

@Meachamus_Prime These things move slowly, will those guys applaud the next group that burns down a city or advocate for reparations? No. Could their views on wars shift like the political parties have? Yes. Sowing division for the sake of his open society and making money is what he does and there's no sign of it stopping anytime soon.
